Introduction:

Hello!

Welcome to Proverbs World. We are continuing our journey of proverbs from around the world on a daily basis. In this article, we delve into the Romanian proverb “A man who chases two rabbits catches none” in detail.

First understand the rabbits we are chasing in the everyday life—that could be dreams, goals, targets and so on, but most of the time we would not able to catch them—that’s the proverbs states. Let’s understand some reasons behind this scenario.

Why we fail chasing two rabbits at one time?

The key factor behind it is a dilution of attention in one task or one goal. If you focus on one goal or one task at a time the possibility of success is higher. On the other hand, if we try to chase two rabbits at the same time it may happen that we catch nether.

Let me tell you, my story. when I was pursuing my graduation in college—I have dreamed of learning the skills form the experts in the field but, unfortunately, I land to a lower-class private institution. You can not expect more than you invest. Means the professors employed over there are those who never got their dream job so they grab the opportunity to teach students without interest.

Since then, I explore the internet for my hunger for knowledge from true experts in technology. My search came to end on MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) from NPTEL in the 4th semester. I have dicided to log in to the courses and learn the real skill from IIT professors.

These institutes have minimum attendance rules. Taking care of those rules; it was hard for me to save time for my NPTEL lectures time. Those days from starting 7:00 am to 8:00 pm my residence in the college feels exhausted at the end of the day.

During this, first time I truly enjoyed the joy of learning technical, engineering, technological things—thanks to the decades of experience of IIT professors. Sometimes I feel bored in the regular class at college. Also, at the same time, I have taken a pledge to secure 7.5 CGPA. I hope now you can understand my two rabbits which I was chasing.

However, at the time of semester exam I was not that much prepared due to my dilution in between NPTEL and semester studies. I was certified by IIT Madras in the elite category certification on the first try—I was apricated by the principle of the institute and HoD. I was hilarious but I got one backlog in the 3rd semester which spoiled my dream of maintaining 7.5 CPA.

In the summary, I failed chasing to rabbits at a one time; it’s my advice to you prioritize your main goal the secondary goals fulfilled eventually.
