Irish Proverb |
Do not blow
an ember that has no fire in it. –Irish Proverb
Meaning:
Means one
should not invest time, energy, money in the task has no potential.
Introduction:
It is truly
said in the proverb—Do not blow an ember that has no fire in it. Wood is being used
as a primary source of energy, before, the extraction of natural gas and other
types of flammable gases used for the purpose of heating and cooking; though in
some villages and remote areas still this wood is used. In order to continue firing
the wood one must blow some air into burning wood. Due to this vital process, today’s proverb may be formed at that time. If you don’t blow extra air to the ember it goes
out, and whole left unburnt.
How it relates to life?
In our day-to-day
activities we do a lot of unnecessary actions that have not outcomes or
minimal outcomes; in the same, as said in his proverb. Those kinds of
liveliness we should stop blowing air into those activities. I put social media
in this category for example. If one using it extensively, it will not be advantageous.
Use as more as possible for no reasons such as—counting likes, dislikes,
comments, etc.
