Meaning:
This proverb
suggests people that they should always go for the truth. If there is a choice
between truth with suffering or lie with praise go for the truth.
Author's view:
Truth vs. lie
has been always a defining choice for anyone in life. Let’s discuss in brief.
Truth is ever
hard way to follow in any case—it has two main parts: speaking and doing. You may
wonder but doing right is also a hard choice. The lie is easy in both doing and
speaking. However, the person should look seemingly right for doing or speaking a lie.
Another is accepting
the reality which is suggested by the proverb—Better to suffer for the truth than being praised for the lie. Let’s understand
by example, if you decided to participate in a race i.e. a marathon so, you must
tell yourself the truth that if you have not capable of running or you haven’t
did before, and dreaming to win the race because someone tells you can do it;
but you know what’s the truth is.
You may disappoint hearing the truth
that is not your cup of tea first but if you go to lie; think you are the
winner and live with praiseful life.
Eventually, you will be overconfident. Surely you will not finish with a win. Here, I do not wish to discourage you but the advice you to chose truth over the lie. We should remember this proverb before going for a choice in any aspect of life.
